The look of, “Mom, help!” Darby is being so patient with foster Pixie, but this is a perfect example of how we must protect our established dogs and puppies. When bringing puppies into a home with other dogs, we have to be sure to protect our older dogs from puppy antics and be sure our dogs feel that they have safe spaces to decompress away from the unpredictably of a puppy. While they get small moments like this - the end is where I remove Pixie to a safe playpen and be sure the adult dogs get their own space and own time to exist without the constant pressure of an exuberant puppy. ...
